PROIBITO

The **Proibito Suite** is located in the estate’s original manor wing, once home to the noble Baron of the Balze. The 33 m² lime-washed room features double-height ceilings, a cozy mezzanine with a comfortable daybed suitable for a third guest, and a balcony overlooking the lush garden. The refined palette of Proibito, with deep blues and aged grays, evokes the crystal-clear waters of Sicily and

is reflected in the sapphire-colored Signoria Firenze linens on the double bed, the bathroom tiles inspired by traditional Sicilian ceramics, and the modern touches of the collage headboard by designer Draga Obradovich, the wooden wardrobe by Katrine Ahrens, and minimalist bedside lighting. Traces of the room’s former use as the Baron of the Balze’s family residence are visible in the rough stone walls and historic wooden doors.

“The name Proibito is inspired by one of the most significant masterpieces of Oscar-winning director Frank Capra, who was born in Sicily and later emigrated to the United States. Presented at the first edition of the Venice Film Festival in 1932, the film tells the intense and tragic story of a relationship between a Sicilian girl and a politician, who hide their affair until the very end.”

Each stay includes a generous buffet breakfast, both sweet and savory, prepared with high-quality organic ingredients and curated by our Chef at Lumìa Restaurant. We offer artisanal pastries and homemade bread made with ancient grains by Chef Gabriele Camiolo and our kitchen team, along with freshly baked cakes, tarts, cookies, and leavened goods.

The buffet is complemented by seasonal fresh fruit, fruit salads, citrus, yogurt, cereals, and eggs prepared to order, as well as a selection of savory dishes. Organic fruits and vegetables come directly from our Passo Ladro fields. The experience is completed with a selection of local cheeses and dairy products, always fresh, accompanied by jams, honey, and regional specialties.
