The cultural vocation of Dimora delle Balze is expressed through special projects that weave together art, education, and social engagement, transforming the estate into a place of creation and sharing. Among these, the observatory project, developed in collaboration with local schools, serves as an educational experience that introduces young people to astronomy and the contemplation of the night landscape, fostering scientific curiosity and a sense of wonder. A particularly notable event was the Infiorata hosted at the Dimora, organized with the contribution of the Association of
Master Flower Artists, which transformed the spaces into an ephemeral path of floral art, celebrating tradition and craftsmanship through installations of striking visual and emotional impact. The “Libro Bar Amore” project created an intimate, creative meeting place where books, music, and conviviality become tools for cultural exchange and social connection. This vision also guided the event Noi sogniamo stelle, presented in Milan, an experiential narrative that brought the poetic imagination of the Dimora beyond Sicily, sharing with a wider audience the dialogue between hospitality, art, and dreams that defines the estate’s unique identity.
2024 – 2025
Christmas Edition
In 2024 and 2025, Dimora delle Balze brought its exclusive format A Convivial Dinner to Milan, with a special Christmas edition dedicated to the press and selected guests.
The event extended the concept of hospitality that defines the Dimora in Sicily, transporting it to the heart of Milan through an intimate and refined gastronomic experience. A warm atmosphere, meticulous attention to detail, and creative dishes conveyed the philosophy of Dimora delle Balze, where the art of welcoming blends with conviviality and a passion for cuisine. This project succeeded in letting guests experience the essence of the Dimora even far from Sicily, offering a taste of its discreet luxury, culinary culture, and the beauty that makes every stay at Dimora delle Balze truly unique.

MAY 2024
In May, Dimora delle Balze welcomed the magic of spring with a unique project: the Infiorata, set up in the Ancient Courtyard of the Winter Garden. Inspired by the Baroque tradition of Noto, the Infiorata transformed the Dimora into a long carpet of flowers, created by the talent of the finest Sicilian and Italian artists. This year, the tribute was dedicated to Giacomo Puccini on the centenary of his passing, while also celebrating the natural beauty surrounding the estate. Amid colors and shapes woven into a harmonious composition, the Infiorata created an atmosphere suspended between art and nature, combining floral creativity with sensory impressions to offer an experience that turned a visit to the Dimora into a truly poetic journey. This project was realized in collaboration with the Association of Master Flower Artists (Associazione dei Mastri Infiorai).

MAY 2022
Passo Ladro and Made Program have joined forces to share images, artworks, and stories. “Grain, Vapor, Ray” is an educational project inspired by Passo Ladro’s mission, combining ethics, sustainable development, historical heritage, and contemporary art. Our aim was to unite the artistic, creative, and human spirit of the students at the Academy of Fine Arts in Syracuse with their connection to the land, inviting them to reconnect with it and draw inspiration from nature. Our lands thus become a stellar laboratory and a creative forge. The four sessions of “Grain, Vapor, Ray,” spread across four specific times of the year, gave rise to a body of artistic works collected in a publication and used for Passo Ladro’s communications. Once these works were completed, they were compiled into a publication and finally presented in a closing exhibition.

MARCH 2019
This photographic collection, born from the streets of Caltagirone, Modica, Noto, Scicli, Palazzolo Acreide, Ragusa Ibla, Ortigia, and Syracuse, celebrates the nature and history of a land traversed by peoples and cultures with stark and contrasting differences. The legacy of this millennia-old history is a time that seems frozen, impervious to the modern world and its relentless pace. A way of life evoked in these shots through images of the summer heat, empty, sun-drenched streets, and the weathered faces of those sitting on the steps of the town square. And more: the controra, the testa di turco, almonds and granita, the summer heat, the benches in the square, the pottery shops, the Sicilian carts, churches, cathedrals, and the terraces overlooking the sea. Bar Amore is a project by Dimora delle Balze dedicated to those who visit the Val di Noto. A collection of evocations of beauty, folklore, and tradition. A key that invites you to open yourself to the magic of Sicily.
