The cozy Autoritratto room can be booked for single use or for a couple. The ancient workroom, with its stone walls, opens onto a small private terrace, ideal for enjoying the Sicilian sun. Located in the part of the estate that once housed the farmers and their families, the traditional ceramic pots and decorated tiles that adorn the room are a subtle tribute to the space’s domestic roots. Alongside these evocative objects, contemporary furniture by designers such as Katrine Ahrens brings this intimate room to life.
Autoritratto takes its name from the work of the Sicilian painter Renato Guttuso, born in Bagheria in 1911. Working in an expressionist style, his subjects were inspired by the warm colors and strong emotions of his homeland. Although he created many portraits, including those of Giovanni Pirelli, Lucio Fontana, Alberto Moravia, and Carlo Levi, he often painted himself, producing works characterized by vibrant energy and inner conflict.
